International Tech Park now Wi-Fi enabled
Bangalore, March 5, 2004

International Tech Park, Bangalore, has stepped up its hi-tech infrastructure with the introduction of Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity - Internet connectivity).

With this new facility, professionals working at the International Tech Park and visitors can now be able to browse, check e-mail, and connect to their offices anywhere in the world without worrying about finding a wired network connection.

Wi-Fi facility will enable users to enjoy broadband Internet access for about Re 1 per minute. The prepaid cards for use of this facility are available online (http://wizone.sify.com) as well as at the Sify I-way outlet, located in the Tech Park Mall.

Speaking on the introduction of Wi-Fi, Mr. Chan Kah Hoe, CEO, ITPL said, "IT Park being a prominent technology hub and with a growing IT population, easy access to online information has become a necessity. We envisaged the need to provide this value added service to the Parkites as well as visitors."

He also added, "Wi-Fi is another step into making IT Park a 'World in a Park'. Our next structure, 'Inventor', which is Part of phase 1C of the Park's development, will also be equipped with Wi-Fi."

Sify Ltd are the service providers for this facility at the International Tech Park. There are branded hotspot locations in the premises, termed as 'Sify WiZones' - where users can avail of wireless Internet connectivity that is reliable, fast (upto 384 kbps), scalable and secure.
